Data Visualization

At Xcel, I have built a number of dashboards for displaying information related to load research projects. Presented here is a compilation of those dashboards. I actively keep involved in the progress of these efforts, continually modifying the information and incorporating more functions in response to user feedback.

My MVP is that I cracked the code to geocode our internal GIS data for reporting, thus the highest-paid IT, contractors, and analysts approach me instead of our substantial GIS department.

AMI Meter Rollout

Each week, I pull all AMI meter installations in four states. Multiple layers of data are mapped out and compared to the total amount of business and home customers.

EV Dashboard

A contractor employs zipcode-aligned DMV data to determine the number of registered EVs in each zip code. This data is clipped within territory limits. A comparison is made between metrics and residential counts in a PowerBI dashboard. User selection by postal codes filters the metrics.

GridScape

Our Python solution utilizes q query to retrieve real-time data from transformers with full AMI capabilities. Using engineering criteria for transformer capacity and customer count, we calculate metrics to identify overloaded transformers. I developed an ArcGIS software that plots Overloading Events and Critical Transformers on a map, complete with a filterable attribute table that can be downloaded for offline use.
